DNA 100%, no missing spots

The Human Genome Project team has finally completed the mapping of human DNA. Scientists were only able to complete mapping of the entire human genome (determining the position of genes on a chromosome relative to other genes) only about 20 years after most of the work had been done.  A new study this week has succeeded in sequencing the genome without gaps, including 8% of genetic information previously unknown.  The missing data could provide more information about the human evolutionary path as well as our susceptibility to disease.   The authors say that simply by having a complete map of the genome, we can better find and track variations in our DNA that could tell us something about the genetically determined features of our body — work the team is already doing.
